Cha-Ching 2.0 Update Available – Still Working on a few issues
written on Oct 2 2009 by Midnight_Apps 17 comments

Just a quick post here to let you all know that last night we pushed out an update to Cha-Ching 2.0.

This does not solve the issues we are having with Apple’s App Store but it is at least a step in the right direction. We are still eagerly awaiting Apple to approve Cha-Ching Touch 1.6.

Regards to the desktop…
Currently, This build seems to be only working for our users who are running Snow Leopard. We have made some significant changes over the last several weeks that have led to a Leopard related crash. I am working on resolving the issue and I will post an update as soon as possible.

Here is the download link to the latest build:

In a half hour of playing around with the latest build, I have to say I really like it. Everything feels and flows much better than the previous beta. All accounts view is a very welcome change. Has anyone sync to their iPhone app yet? For some reason I am afraid to. Developers? Is v405 safe to sync?

v405 has iPhone sync disabled essentially. It will only sync with Cha-Ching Touch 1.6. Which is pending approval by Apple. So you’re “safe” in a sense. It just wont work.

All of my transactions lost their categories. I’m sure it’s a bug, but it is fairly annoying.

@gpjcole yeah that and my dates seem to default to september 2nd when i create a new transaction/account.

    All Categories are gone!!!

DONT UPDATE! ALL YOUR WORK WILL BE FUCKED!

    I’M SO ANNOYED!!!

So what’s the answer on the categories problem, Alvarez? Is the data still there only not presented by the UI or is this a huge mess-up?

I’m just trying to figure out where the bottom of this is. I was absolutely irate when Cha-Ching expired and would not let me into my data. As what seems to be one of the few people who actually paid for Cha-Ching 1.0, I find this completely unacceptable. But, alas, I said nothing and waited for an update. Now, with this hack of an update, all of my categories have been wiped out–which are 75% of what I use Cha-Ching for. What gives? My patience is wearing thin.

Is there a way we could get updates as to your progress on this post? So many people have created tickets in the other system and it’s not easy to find what the last post was. I’m sure you are making progress towards some fixes and it would help calm a lot of other customers if they heard some kind of status. Maybe an end of day status?

I also am seeing all my transactions listed as “Uncategorized” now. I poked around in the data files and discovered that the categories are all still there… there’s just a bug with displaying them.

I am also seeing all transactions as “Uncategorized” now. Also, unless I am missing it, accounts are no longer showing up in the sidebar. I now have to go to all accounts and then drill down to the specific account. Hopefully, we’ll get an update with a fix soon.

Ah, Categories back again! Thanks a lot!

When will the fix be available for those of us who are still on 10.5.x? It’s rather annoying to keep setting the date back just to get in to the app.

sorry if this has already been asked/replied, I searched but didn’t find it…
Does the QIF import import categories as well? I tried to import my qif file, but every transaction is uncategorized/untagged.
    Qif entries look like
    !Type:Bank
    D03/01/06
    PBollette
    MBollette
    T-254,29
    CX
    Lbollette
    ^
    D03/01/06
    PLinda
    MLinda
    T-186,50
    CX
    Llinda

    thanks for any help
